Big thank you to Empire Movies and Reel Cinemas for having me and making this review possible!.

While collecting junk one day, best friends Sonny and Sam meet Slappy, a mischievous talking dummy from an unpublished “Goosebumps” book by R.L. Stine. Hoping to start his own family, Slappy kidnaps Sonny’s mother and brings all of his ghoulish friends back to life just in time for Halloween. As the sleepy town becomes overrun with monsters, witches and other mysterious creatures, Sonny joins forces with his sister, Sam and a kindly neighbor to save Sonny’s mom and foil Slappy’s plan.

As a big fan of R.L Stine’s books which I enjoyed reading in high school, I’ve always loved the franchise. This is the second film in the franchise with a completely new cast which worked well and Wendi McLendon-Covey (Kathy), Madison Iseman (Sarah), Jeremy Ray Taylor (Sonny), Jack Black (R.L Stine), Caleel Harris (Sam) and Ken Jeong (Mr. Chu) acting was good.

The storyline was okay but the final plot was simple and just like the books but lacked the funny, whimsical and charming presentiment the first one had but young audiences will definitely love it. Mick Wingert who voices Slappy does an amazing job and is the main character in this film. The CGI was done well and the monsters looked scarier compared to the first film. This movie has a bunch of jump scares which had kids screaming. I wanted more from the script but overall this movie is fun, enjoyable and will definitely get you into the Halloween spirit and if you love the books then you\ll definitely enjoy this one!.
